The Amity Affliction

The Amity Affliction

Sunday 6 August / Mainstage

16:55 – 17:30

Strange band, The Amity Affliction. They look like street thugs that own the basketball court around the corner and sound like the soundtrack you’d hear in your head when a Boeing 747 crashes into your backyard. Their choruses, however, sound like Sunday morning TV programme tunes, almost child friendly. Until you listen to the lyrics, because lead singer Ahren Stringer generally writes about heavy stuff like depression, addiction, psychoses, anxieties, etc. From the moment we heard their fifth and latest album ‘This could be heartbreak’ (2016), we’ve been trying to get them to come over from Australia. Why? To show us metal heads how easily they switch from ear-splitting roars to charming choruses. Come and see for yourselves how they do that and find out if all the praise The Amity Affliction has received is justified.
