Tuesday 8 August / Mainstage
21:45 – 22:45
Sometimes it may seem as if Tom Odell’s music is made exclusively for people who know how it feels to have their heart broken, so basically for everyone over 13 years old. However, since the release of ‘Wrong crowd’ (2016) this young god has managed to reposition himself back in the centre of the highly regarded pop music, proving he’s still on track to becoming ‘the 21st century Elton John’. With his powerful voice and upbeat tunes like ‘Here I am’, ‘Silhouette’ or ‘Magnetised’ he has no trouble getting the audience to dance. He even turns them into his personal choir and lucky for him, they always seem to know the songs by heart. So you know what to expect on Tuesday 8 August: classic, sing-along-able pop songs, and a live performance ten times more powerful than what you hear on the recorded versions. As long as he doesn’t actually turn into the ‘21st century Elton John’, we can afford to book him for our festival, but don’t be surprised if in ten years’ time you have to pay triple the price for his concerts. So grab this opportunity and see him in one of the best settings in Flanders.
