DROPKICK MURPHYS

Since 2018, we have been inundated with pleas from the League of Flemish Physiotherapists, asking when we will finally programme DROPKICK MURPHYS again. Physiotherapist L.V. from Lokeren, for example, had so much work after their legendary performance at our venue in 2018 that she ended up buying an apartment with a sea view in Sydney, while her colleague F. from Zele celebrates Christmas every year on his boat moored in Nassau. Well, Dropkick Murphys on our square was also a legendary party. Both for them, for you, and for our accountant, who recalculated the drink sales three times in disbelief. Good news: not only are they coming back to Lokeren – on Monday 3 August – but they are doing so with their latest release, “For the People”, 17 fresh potential live favourites that will test the soles of your shoes. Punk is also about rebellion and resistance, and in that respect we are still left wanting. Where are The Clash, The Dead Kennedys, The Specials of these very disturbing times?  Well, the Murphys, punk's own Rebel Alliance, are taking on the evil Galactic Empire, which threatens to vacuum all decency out of the Western world. Dropkick Murphys is an institution, a beacon of cohesion, resistance and litres of factor 1,000 feel-good sunscreen. Flemish physiotherapists have announced that they will not be taking any holidays in August and September, so you can, and we quote, ‘dance with peace of mind until your muscles ache’.
