KITTIN
You may know that we occasionally welcome a living legend onto our stage – Diana from The Supremes, anyone? – but it’s not every day that one comes to play at our Club. Don’t tell Natuurpunt, but with (Miss) KITTIN we’ve just bagged the bird of our dreams! Anyone who’s outgrown their shorts will undoubtedly know Miss Kittin from her years as Miss Kittin & The Hacker. We mean: what sensational gigs were those? The last time we saw that duo was also the very first time we handed in a doctor’s note, due to exhaustion in our calves and ankles and other parts of our dancing legs. In terms of her discography, her output may have been a bit sparse in recent years – her collaboration with David Guetta and Felix da Housecat dates back to 2022 – but when she takes to the stage, you’re guaranteed a cracking show. Anyone who’s caught Kittin DJing recently gets a lesson in just about every type of electronic music made over the last fifty years. From intoxicating melodies to trance to 90s big beat, only to make a U-turn and return to the intoxication, and if she gets the chance to sneak a bit of krautrock or 80s wave into her set, she’ll do so with a delightful smile. Kittin is coming to our Club on Friday 7 August. Our Club, with its low stage! The last time you came close to looking a living legend in the eye, you probably had to see an eye doctor for an acute case of starstruckitis. For once, instead of putting your earbuds in your ears, sticking them over your eyes isn’t exactly a pretty sight, but it is effective in that respect.
