THERAPY? PLAY TROUBLEGUM

Time to stir things up again, right on the head of Dame Andrew Tate, the one of all our female roosters who lays the most eggs: on Monday 3 August, previously announced top bands such as Dropkick Murphys and Gogol Bordello will be followed by the legendary THERAPY?  The question mark is there because it's part of the band's name, not because we're asking a question.  Actually, it's barbecue and mojito weather outside, and we feel a bit sad to introduce you to an act that has been in your musical hearts for years.  Anyway, let's keep it short because the lime has just been cut and we can already smell the cane sugar. First, let's get your hearts racing a little: Therapy?'s van has a built-in GPS with 22 pre-programmed addresses, because those are the places they visit most often.  Grote Kaai, 9160 Lokeren is one of them. After all, this will be their fifth time here.  But, hence the little leap of joy, this time they will focus on the LP “Troublegum” (1994), one of the twelve panels (*)  that together form the Ghent Altarpiece of 90s heavy rock. There are fourteen tracks on it, dozens of riffs carved from ebony that form a celebrated duo with beautiful melodies that reach to the farthest stars.  Fourteen gusts of wind that pound that part of your brain where all feelings of excitement are stored.  You can write the best-formulated prompt, but AI will never come up with anything as brilliant as “Die laughing”, “Nowhere”, “Trigger inside” or “Screamager”. Speaking of coming up with something: every time Therapy? arrived at our place, it turned out that their already acclaimed van had a nice spot in the boot to store the lovingly conquered throne of Hüsker Dü, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Pixies anno “Surfer Rosa”. Oh yes, Joy Division songs are usually guarded by a platoon of United Nations blue helmets, but what Therapy? managed to achieve with “Isolation” earned them personal congratulations in 1994 from then-boss Boutros Boutros-Ghali. Right, the mojitos are on the table, the coals are turning white, time to go outside. Therapy? Never mind the question marks, here are a few exclamation marks: Therapy! Troublegum! Mosh! Monday!

(*) “Never mind”, something by Deftones, that black one by Metallica, “Dirt”, “Vulgar display of power”, you can fill in the other six yourself.
